Magistrates' Association Events

National Annual General Meeting

Each year the Association holds an Annual General Meeting, usually in November. The venue alternates, generally with two out of three years being held in London and the third year in another of the major cities in England and Wales.

In 2011 the meeting will be held on Saturday 19 November at St. George's Hall in Liverpool.

At the meeting the statutory motions include:

  • The election of auditors for the ensuing year
  • The financial statements and auditor's report for the latest recent financial year
  • The annual report of the Board of Trustees for the latest financial year

The meeting may be addressed by the Association’s President, the Lord Chief Justice; Chairman and Honorary Treasurer; and by other distinguished guests.

Various officers of the Association are elected and motions debated to establish policy on topical subjects.

One or more presentations may be made in order to enhance the understanding of members on areas of current interest.
