Diversity and inclusion networks

We are working to recognise and bring together magistrates from sections of society that are underrepresented within both the MA and the magistracy as a whole. Our diversity and inclusion networks help these members to connect and discuss issues specific to them.

How the networks work

Our diversity and inclusion networks:

  • Provide opportunities for magistrates from underrepresented groups to network with their peers across England and Wales.
  • Generate discourse around the issues affecting magistrates from underrepresented groups (who are members of the MA) and advise, inform and work with the MA to address these issues.
  • Advise and inform the work of the MA with the relevant government bodies on the creation of routes to the recruitment and retention of magistrates from underrepresented groups.

Each group is governed by an elected executive comprising a chair and two deputy chairs.

You must be an MA member to participate in our diversity and inclusion networks.
