Lord Chief Justice officially opens new MA premises

The MA is delighted that our President - The Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Rt Hon. Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd (pictured above left with MA Chairman, Malcolm Richardson) - formally opened our new premises in St George Wharf, Vauxhall, yesterday.

The event was hosted by current MA Chairman Malcolm Richardson JP and among the guests were former Chairmen John Hosking CBE JP DL (1987-90), John Thornhill OBE JP (2008-11), John Fassenfelt OBE JP (2011-2013) and Richard Monkhouse JP (2013-15), along with MA veteran Ann Flintham OBE JP and former Chief Executive Chris Brace JP.

A number of key criminal justice figures were in attendance, including Judge Emma Arbuthnot – Senior District Judge (Chief Magistrate), Tan Ikram – Deputy Senior District Judge, David Goodman – Deputy District Judge (Magistrates' Courts) and Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede JP.

It was an opportunity for guests to meet the staff team – including the new Chief Executive Jon Collins – and to look around the building, including the new display of the MA's Royal Charter and coat of arms.

The evening was greatly enjoyed by all and we are very grateful to Lord Thomas for agreeing to be our guest of honour and to all those involved in facilitating the move to the new office and in making today's event such an enjoyable occasion.
