Stratford-upon-Avon river scene

A walking tour of Stratford-upon-Avon, including a boat trip

Starting at 10:00, a local guide will collect guests from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, to begin a leisurely tour of Stratford-upon-Avon.

As many will be aware, Stratford is a small Elizabethan town beside the gently flowing River Avon and is famous as the birthplace of the immortal bard William Shakespeare. The charming town centre boasts an array of 16th and 17th century buildings with rows of half-timbered houses, including Shakespeare's home.

Stratford is also well known as a setting for Shakespeare's works and, as well as being the home of the Royal Shakespeare company, is the site of three popular theatres, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, The Swan and The Other Place.

The tour will encompass many places of interest, such as the in-town Shakespeare houses, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Holy Trinity Church, the Guild Chapel and Harvard House. There will be plenty of opportunity during the day for guests to visit one or more of the Shakespeare properties and view Shakespeare's grave, but additional entrance fees may apply.

The tour will include a 40-minute boat trip on the River Avon and lunch will be provided. It will conclude back at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 16:00.

Price: £30.00 per person
