Jon Collins, out-going Chief Executive of the Restorative Justice Council, has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Magistrates Association, the independent charity representing Justices of the Peace in England and Wales. He will start his new role in August, replacing Chris Brace JP who has joined the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire as Chief Executive.
Jon said of his appointment: “I am delighted to be joining the Magistrates Association at such an exciting and important time. I look forward to working with the staff team, the board and the membership to ensure that the MA continues to develop and expand its excellent work.”
MA National Chairman Malcolm Richardson JP has welcomed the appointment by saying: “Jon has considerable experience of senior roles in the justice sector and the abundant focus he has shown on criminal justice is tailor-made for the MA as we go forward. We would like to thank Chris Brace for his immeasurable hard work over the years and wish him well for the future.
“The skills, knowledge and experience Jon brings to the Association will help us deliver on our charitable objects in promoting the sound administration of the law and the vital role magistrates play in our justice system.”
