The Probation Institute (PI) and Magistrates’ Association (MA) are working together to promote the learning and development of professionals working in the criminal justice sector. We are pleased to launch the Probation-Sentencer Liaison Network (PSLN), for the exchange of views on key issues including sentencing, rehabilitation, protection of the public and confidence in the justice system.
The Probation-Sentencer Liaison Network (PSLN), is aimed at those working in probation and rehabilitation, the judiciary and magistracy, and all who play a significant role in the delivery of justice. It will be open and inclusive, welcoming the exchange of views between practitioners and managers from probation, rehabilitation and resettlement and sentencers, providing a much needed opportunity in the newly transformed environment.
The PSLN has an online discussion forum and library to facilitate communication among PSLN members. There are guidelines to encourage open discussion and conclusions and any recommendations will be given wide publicity. The work of the Network will be supported by a Moderator; Richard Monkhouse, former Chairman of the Magistrates’ Association, is taking on this role.
