We welcome the introduction of a new Victims’ Code, setting out expectations and rights for victims of crime. We have focused our response on chapters 3 and 4 of the consultation - on a digital service, the Victim Impact Statement, and sentencing, as these are the areas most relevant to victims in the magistrates’ courts. Our response was informed by input from our Adult Court Committee.
